These workshops serve as a solid introduction for those new to nonprofits or a good refresher course for the more seasoned professional.

      •  Fundamentals of Budgeting - 9 a.m. to noon
Budgets are the foundation of nonprofit finance and are vital to your organization's strategic planning and management. This workshop will prepare you to craft a budget for your program or organization using a clear 10-step process. We will walk through a realistic budgeting scenario and discuss the basics of managing cash flow, giving you practical tools to develop and monitor effective budgets.
      • Fundamentals of Nonprofit Financing - 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Nonprofit finance has unique rules, conditions, and terminology. This session will provide an introduction to financial reports, the accounting rules governing restricted funds, and nonprofit reporting requirements. We will unpack financial jargon and use real nonprofit examples to illustrate key concepts. You will learn to clarify financial roles and responsibilities and how to create effective internal controls and policies.

Take these two workshops together for a comprehensive overview of nonprofit financial management. Both will be presented by Michael Anderson, Training Program Manager and Loan Officer with the Nonprofit Assistance Fund.
